Rio de Janeiro, Brazil-based media company Infoglobo tapped CCI Europe's NewsGate to manage cross-media workflows for print and digital products at its main newspaper title, O Globo.
The paper will also use digital publishing software from Escenic.
"We are already creating multimedia content, but are using many different systems and having a complex workflow to follow," said Carlos Safini, CIO of Infoglobo. "The combination of NewsGate and Escenic will simplify the daily operations in the newsrooms and improve our overall efficiency.
"Also, we believe that it will be much simpler to create a new distribution channel and/or product in the CCI environment."
Infoglobo spent more than six months evaluating different software before choosing NewsGate. The publisher in 2009 outlined a goal to position O Globo as a cross-media vehicle for reliable information.

People's Daily in Beijing tapped Goss International for a two-around Universal press that will be used to produce the paper's subsidiary titles including the Global Times and International Financial Daily.
The press, configured as six four-high towers and two folders, will go into production later this year, Goss said. It will be able to print full color on every page for 24-page broadsheet or 48-page tab products. The folders will allow People's Daily to split production, as needed.
The Universal will replace a Goss Metroliner, which was installed in the early 1980s.
The People's Daily is planning to purchase additional presses as well, Goss said, and is expected to construct a new printing facility to accommodate the machines.
